Horse War

Equinophobia, Hippophobia, if you prefer, or just plain, “I Don’t Like Horses-aphobia” can all aptly describe me. If you’re new around here, you might want to click over here to get a short backstory about my intense dislike for horses.  I am currently preparing my portion of the Grand Debate that will take place in Heaven.  The one wherein God and I?  We get to “go at it” about why He created the things in the first place. Oh yes indeedy. We are having that conversation.

Anywho, a Sweetfriend called the other day to offer me a bag of books for my Sweetgirl.  I, being the book lover that I am, never turn down the opportunity to add more books to our home.  And I didn’t think, for one hot second, that I might need to ask what sorts of books they were.

Imagine, then, my horror, upon opening the graciously donated bag, to find these:

And then these:

Seriously? Is there no end to this?

To this, I can only say, “Of course, you realize, this means war!”

  2. I really am sorry, but I did laugh out loud. Did your friend know?! Oh dear. I’m sure you can pass them along quickly!
My family likes to torment me with roach related things. My mom once bought a wind-up roach and put it in my underwear drawer (or she was going to, but sent it across the room instead…I can’t remember, it was awful either way), and my own daughter drew me a GIANT picture of a roach, colored in and all, for Christmas one year. I have been promised by my husband that roaches will end up in the fiery pit when all is restored and renewed. I’m sorry I can’t say if I know about horses. Maybe the animosity that rages will be changed to eternal love? 😉

    • Christina – Roaches = EWWW! Saw enough of them growing up in Florida to last a lifetime, thankyou-very-much. And I’m rooting for your final analysis. May the rage be transformed into eternal equine love.

  3. Too funny. I had a friend in college who was deathly afraid of clowns — poor girl how people terrorized her. I love to look at horses but they are huge beast and quite scary when you get up to them.

  4. LOL! My daughter LOVES horses…true love, and she cannot understand why I do not like them. I’ve been on a horse twice in my life – once the horse threw me off and I landed on a tree (maybe in a tree? I hit the tree – hard!). The next time the stupid horse did whatever it wanted, wouldn’t listen to me a bit, and I got in trouble for not staying on the trail with the group. That horse should’ve gotten in trouble. Besides, they make me sneeze. Don’t like em one bit.

I finally had to break the news to my daughter, “No matter how much you hope and dream, you’re not getting a horse while you are living with me.” Truth is sometimes the hardest. 😉

    • Indeed, the horse SHOULD have gotten in trouble! I’d say you hit that tree hard, if you can’t remember being IN it or near it. Horses… Nuthin but trouble!
