Five Minute Friday – Dive

It’s Five Minute Friday time for me again and I couldn’t be happier.  This is where we join Lisa-Jo Baker every Friday and spend 5 minutes writing on a one word prompt.  That’s 5 minutes without editing or over thinking.  Consider joining in the fun and camaraderie that this beautiful community of writers provide, won’t you?

Today’s prompt is: DIVE

Without air provided by my snorkel, or my tank, I am unable.  Unable to breathe underwater.  Unable to experience all that was created by the Creator under the waves that beckon. And I want to.  I so want to slip underneath those waves and discover all that there is to see.  Every brilliantly hued living thing making it’s home under the sea.

It’s often like this when I am embarking on a new adventure.  Often, this new adventure is heralded by some prompting in my spirit by God.  Something nudges me towards discovery.  And I want to dive right into it.

The sense that mystery and beauty await is almost tangible. I just know in my heart of hearts that all will be well with my soul. My heart will thump wildly before I take that first breath and plummet.

And once I’m down, down deep into the waters, whether they’re the waters of A Grand New Adventure or the actual waters of The Deep Blue Sea, I am amazed.  And awed.  And reminded why it’s always okay to trust in my Creator for my very breath.

And to dive right in.

  1. Oh you get this trust business, don’t you, friend.
I still have much to learn…but believe it to be true. Every gift of breath is from above…I can rest in that.
    thank you!!!

(and silly fact: I get claustrophobic snorkeling of all things! well, among other things, too:))

  2. I need to remind myself of this every single day! “And reminded why it’s always okay to trust in my Creator for my very breath.” Yes and yes and amen. Loved this.

  3. Beautiful and so encouraging to me this morning. So glad I popped in from FMF. I have to say it was your photo that completely intrigued me. πŸ™‚
